With a no-volt-release switch as an extra safeguard as it must be manually reset after a power cut. Portable device for plugging into earthed sockets. Triggered by 30 mA. Test button and indicator lamp. 230 V/13 A. Class A.
This is how an RCD works:
If a fault occurs in a damaged lead or electric appliance, e.g. an iron, drill, or toaster, the current may be conducted through you if you are in contact with an earthed object such as a sink. The RCD trips if the current takes another route than the intended one. RCDs must not be used instead of other safety precautions such as earth connections. Our RCDs trip at 30 mA leakage and work in earthed and non-earthed sockets.
